AUDITIONS
MAMMA MIA!
Directed by Abigail Paxton Jeffries
Main Stage Musical, Mercedes Edwards Theater

Bears,
Thank you so much to all who auditioned for Bear Stage’s production of Mamma Mia! You all had incredible auditions and did not make this an easy decision for the audition panel.
Most importantly, I am proud of everyone’s auditions and callbacks. Auditioning for a musical is very brave, especially when the talent pool is overflowing with superstars, and I want you to be just as proud! Your audition panel spent much of Saturday morning reviewing all aspects of the production. We did our best to accommodate each of you, and I promise we looked closely at every person’s audition individually.
You see, casting a show is not about who is the most talented or the most experienced (and there certainly was plenty of that). Remember, casting a show is by no means personal—this is why we use anonymous numbers and not your names. It’s about who is the best choice for these specific parts, with these other cast members, at this specific time. It’s like putting together a very complex puzzle.
For those of you who got a part, congratulations; you've got a lot of hard work ahead of you! To those who did not, I am so sorry! Please know that I care about you and did everything possible to be fair and objective in this process. You have no idea how difficult these decisions were.
Attention, please mark your calendars for the following important dates:
Wednesday, October 29: Mandatory Cast/Parent Meeting: 5:30-6 pm at BHS, Drama Room 403
Wednesday, October 29: Read-Thru: 3:30-5:30 pm, all principal characters (everyone is welcome). Drama Room 403, check the Bear Stage Calendar at bearstage.org
Rehearsal information will be made available to the cast sometime next week.
FAILURE TO BE PRESENT DURING THESE DATES MAY RESULT IN YOUR BEING DROPPED FROM THE SHOW.
Should you wish to quit the production, contact Stage Manager, Liberti Garcia at bearstagemanager@gmail.com immediately.
SCRIPT INFORMATION: Your script will be available with Liberti Garcia on the day of the read-through.
FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN CREW: Please email Stage Manager, Liberti Garcia, at bearstagemanager@gmail.com. Or pick up a Tech Application from Mrs. Paxton Jeffries in 403.
Thank you, I love you, I appreciate your time!
Regards,
Ms Pax
